Learn Guitar-Playing Through a Video

For three years I tried to learn guitar-playing, and found a few methods of how to get lessons by video. My husband gifted me with the DVD set "Simply Guitar" for my first lessons. This has been the most helpful tool I've had in my learning experience, as I can change the camera angle from which I'm viewing each lesson on the DVD with the press of a button. Since I learn best visually but am not able to afford actual lessons, being able to put on a DVD and strum along is what works for me.The video was much clearer on how to form the chords so I learned them much more quickly than just by looking at chord charts.Perhaps this learning method is peculiar to me because I learn better with visuals. And I can read music so learning guitar-playing only required me to understand the techniques.

One can choose on Inrernet websites the DVDs or video lessons appropriate for his learning pace or skill level. These boxed sets usually include many hours of lessons for those who have more time on their hands and desire a comprehensive approach to learning to play in the comfort of their homes.Guitar tablature or reading music are often additional features of these video lesson sets, since the features add better understanding of the techniques involved or taught. But for a total neophyte, he can best learn guitar-playing via personal intruction or music school, the video lessons coming only as second best alternative.

For those who prefer to take a class, guitar lessons on video can be found on the Internet. You can try one of the best online guitar lessons here in  this Jamorama review site.

Many colleges or schools award certificates or degrees to serious guitar musicians, and credit learning lessons by video. The main benefit of learning this way is personal contact with the instructor when the student encounters difficulty. But it may be expensive to have personal instruction and coursework.
