Learn to Sing Instantly!

Have you always wanted to know how to sing? Have you ever wondered how some people learned how to sing like professionals?  Or how those tenors swing their powerful finales in operas or concerts?  Have you been teased that yours is a voice only a mother could love?

The capacity to sing is a present. Though it could also be learned with apt training. For whatever a person does, one of the most important thing is to have the determination to work for it. Much determination and want is required of singing as well. Besides that, here are some other things that could help you become a singing sensation in no time:

The Mentor

To learn to sing, you need to look for mentors who could give feedback. Since singing is a performance art, getting feedback is doubly important. If you're serious about wanting to sing, then you gotta get yourself a voice coach. Simon Cowell is a good example of a coach who will tell you exactly where you are with your singing voice. Believing in your own talent goes a long way but a mentor could pave that way to be smoother for you. A coach is important to help you determine the quality of your voice, the accuracy of your tone, and your voice range.  The coach would guide you through as you formally start your singing training. Try looking for organizations or choirs with vocal trainings and practices. Consider singing with a group (like a choir) because it makes learning more holistic.

Breathe

An important part of singing is breathing. Before a vocalizing exercise, you should do a bit of an exercise by putting your palm on your sternum—the bottom of the lungs; that area where the rib cages meet. Inhale, exhale, and observe how your lungs expand and contract. If you wanna be a really good singer, you have to learn how to breathe properly. It could help you learn how to belt and control your voice. Hold your breath for as long as you could—you're gonna need this skill if you wanna sing properly. Remember, different songs require different kinds of breathing techniques. some more complicated than others.

Know the notes

Doing your practices with the notes is best done with a group or a choir. You get compelled to listen to how your voice really sounds like and whether you're in tune or not. It helps you find out trouble spots and areas of improvement. There are many drills that could help the singer learn breathing techniques in singing.  This could also be done alone; but really, the best way to go about this is to work with a group of people. You might wanna check your tones with a piano if you play one. Try and replicate the sound of basic keys with your voice. Increase and decrease your pitch sequentially to check how you're doing. You're on the right track if you hit the same notes that the piano produces with your voice.

Pronunciation

Singing is not only about rhythm and flow, but also about words. Singing requires the proper pronounciation of words more than an average person thinks so. Words are composed of successions of vowels between consonants so it's important that you practice vowel pronunciation at every pitch. Of course, across cultures (and subcultures even), we have different ways of pronouncing words and singing them. It is good practice to study the way other singers handle and sing their songs. Having a model helps in training on a certain song and its lyrics.

Knowing your voice, choosing songs

We have heard it a million times, and we will say it again here. Knowing what kind of song fits your voice means knowing what kind of voice you have.  A lot of singers, especially the ones starting up, tend to choose songs that do not fit their range. A choir or a coach can give you an idea which songs best fit your voice. Voices find their songs as much as songs find their voices. Your voice could've improved, but your choice of song might be wrong. It's not just your taste that you should consider when choosing a song. You could use it as a way to display your new-found vocal power. Voices have characters that make each unique as well. A proper song would display your voice at its best.

Enjoy

A lot of guides tell you what to do and what not to do.  We have yet to see tips that put in enjoyment and passion. Singing is, firstly, a form of self-expression. Always prioritize your enjoyment, whether you're pro or amateur. Practice can be something as fun and simple like singing in the shower or a karaoke night with friends; the important thing is that you sing often. Singing is, first and foremost, for enjoyment.

The key to learning how to sing is not just about knowing the technicalities of singing, breathing right, or reaching the right notes—it's about love and passion for expression, most of all.
