Newquay Vacations: What To See and Do When You Visit Newquay

Of all the parts of Cornwall that many tourists from around the world flock to, Newquay is one of the most popular of them all. There are ten different beaches in the town but there are lots of other things to keep you occupied on your holiday in Newquay.

In fact, you will find that this area is extremely popular with surfers from across the globe and each year there is an annual surfing competition that takes place. This means that during the summer season especially the town offers a wealth of attractions and great nightlife as well. But, along with its role as a surfers haven this town is popular with families as well. Actually during the summer months the population of the town nearly goes up by 400%.

The climate is somewhat different from other parts of the UK during the summer the weather is usually quite warm with very little chance of rain occurring. Whilst the winters are cool rather than cold. So because of this Newquay can be the ideal spot to visit at any time of year, but obviously you'll need warmer clothing in the winter - you're unlikely to be wandering around in shorts and t-shirt at that time of year.

Originally the town was a thriving port (although small compared to those of Portsmouth and Plymouth), but now it has become a hot spot for tourists instead. Certainly if you are looking to come and stay in Newquay whether it's for a week's holiday or a long weekend then it's best to book your Newquay hotel early.

However, if you are looking to avoid all the tourists and have a peaceful stay in the town then a good time is during April and May. The weather in these months is reasonable and temperatures are relatively warm at this time of year. But the great thing about visiting Newquay at this time is that you will find that you have many of the beaches to yourself.

If you're not part of the beach and surfing crowd, there are lots of other things to keep you occupied in the area. Certainly if you are holidaying in Newquay then visits to Newquay Zoo and the Blue Reef Aquarium are a must. However, if they want why not let them get some body boarding lessons down on the beach as well.

When you're looking for a Newquay hotel or guest house, you've got a wide choice of places to stay. Either you can select to stay in one of Newquay's hotels or if you want to get a little more feel for the kinds of lives that the locals lead then staying in one of the family run guesthouses or B&B's is a far better option for you. Plus the costs are somewhat considerably less than those of the hotels also.
