What Is My State Of Mind? Is It Geared For Success?

mind is a powerful thing

I mean, really, how do we know? You might think it is the vaguest question any article title can pose to the reader but it is something this article will try and tackle. The question ‘What is the state of my mind?’ and ‘Is it geared for success?’ is fraught with deep, dark jungles of uncertainty because we are not speaking about one particular mindset, but about millions of varying thoughts, perceptions, backgrounds, objectives, mindsets, etc.

You are right. This article can in no way answer this question effectively but it will at least cause you to think and think hard about your life. It will be a provocation to re-evaluation and hopefully stir within you a desire to investigate the things your life and whether you've become all you've set out to be, or if you're simply settling for second best. There is a checklist, a general one though, that you can use to assess your life.

One undeniable truth is that your mind determines your reality; it is so powerful that whatever you do, whatever you have become, your mind has been the predetermining factor in all of it. The thing about people nowadays is that they go about life thinking that once college is over the time for education is over. The time to investigate the mind and its potentials stopped once you no longer needed to lift up a book. Constantly your mind is learning and good or bad, life embeds messages in your subconscious - messages that define your very essence - your behaviour, your perception, your emotions, everything. Who you are as a person, as an individual, as a lover, as a worker and your future is completely determined by what is fed into your mind.

Are you where you want to be? Is there some part of you that still feels unfulfilled? Do you have things you wanted to do and passions you wanted to pursue in your life? Have you ever imagined yourself as somebody else, or have you dreamed of things you felt you never could pursue anymore because of whatever reason or excuse that seem to ‘get in the way’ of your pursuit.

These are just some of the questions you should ask yourself. To determine if our minds are geared for success we need to take a look at our checklist of life thus far and see just how far we've gotten, and how close we really are in achieving our ultimate goal in life. ‘Carpe Diem’ - is a meaning that can only be translated and not really understood by most of us. Don’t just look up the meaning of those two words; live it! Seize the day! We should no longer live in fear of uncertainty and failure. Fear we will lose our jobs, fear we will fail, fear of the world around us and the unknown. There is no man or woman who is absolutely without fear in this world. But rise above your fear, rise above your doubts and seize the day.

Fear can be useful but the root of that fear is important. I won’t ramble on, but I will leave you with a proverb that someone left me a long time ago - if success is a road, then we have never truly arrived. So if you’re wondering if this article has answered the question posed to you in the beginning, it hasn’t, because it can’t. Only you can answer it for yourself, and the answer should always be yes.
